Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This policy explains what information Parhelia Biosciences, Inc. (“Parhelia”, “we”) collects through parheliabio.com, why, and what happens to it. It covers this website only — not our instruments, not our software, and not our separate store or Stainworks applications.
What we collect
Information you send us
The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional institution or company, the type of enquiry, and your message. We collect nothing else through the form, and nothing on the form is pre-filled or inferred.
Submissions are processed by Netlify, which hosts this site, and are emailed to sales@parheliabio.com. Netlify also retains a copy in its dashboard, accessible to Parhelia staff.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It records which pages you visit, how you reached the site, and approximate location derived from your IP address, and it sets cookies in your browser. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
The tags currently active are:
- Google Analytics 4 — site usage measurement.
- Google Ads — conversion measurement and remarketing.
Google Ads is advertising rather than analytics: it lets you be
recognised across sites and shown Parhelia advertising elsewhere. It sets a cookie on
doubleclick.net in addition to our own domain.
Cookies
These are the cookies set on a first visit:
_ga,_ga_G01WXP1WPG— Google Analytics._gcl_au,test_cookie— Google Ads.
Consent
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland these cookies are denied by default. Nothing non-essential is set until you choose “Accept” on the banner, and choosing “Decline” keeps them off. Elsewhere they are set on arrival, as they have been on this site historically. Google still receives cookieless signals while consent is denied, so we retain aggregate visit measurement without identifying you.
Your choice is stored in your browser under parhelia-consent. Clearing your
browser storage resets it and the banner returns.
Separately, if you dismiss the announcement bar at the top of the site, that is recorded
in your browser under a key of the form parhelia-announcement-<event-id>
— one key per announcement, so dismissing one does not hide the next. It only records that
you dismissed that specific announcement; it is not used for tracking or analytics.
Third parties that receive data
Fonts are served from our own domain and the brand wordmarks are artwork rather than type, so no external font service is involved. These do receive data:
- Vimeo — only on
Spatial Station and
Videos & Webinars, which embed a demo video.
Vimeo sets a
__cf_bmcookie on its own domain when the player loads. Vimeo's own privacy policy governs that. - Netlify — hosting and contact-form processing.
- Google — via Analytics and Ads, as described above.
Links to our store, Stainworks, and external event or publication pages take you to sites with their own policies.
Why we use it
Contact form submissions are used to answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to follow up about our products. We do not sell personal information.
TO CONFIRM — “sharing” for advertising. The Google Ads tag involves disclosing browsing activity to Google for advertising purposes. Under California law that is likely “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, which carries its own disclosure and opt-out obligations — commonly a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. Whether and how to offer that needs a decision.
TO CONFIRM: whether enquiry details are entered into a CRM or mailing list, and if so which. If they are, that system must be named here.
How long we keep it
TO CONFIRM: a retention period for contact form submissions, in the
Netlify dashboard and in the sales@ mailbox. We recommend stating a definite
period rather than “as long as necessary”.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing sales@parheliabio.com. We will respond to any such request.
TO CONFIRM: which regimes Parhelia is committing to. The site is reached from the EU and UK (GDPR) and from California (CCPA/CPRA), and the customer list includes institutions in both. The specific rights, the response deadline, and any supervisory authority or “Do Not Sell” disclosure depend on that decision and should be settled with counsel.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information in transit to us.
Children
This site is aimed at researchers and institutions. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes to what we collect or who receives it will be described here rather than made silently.
